Autumn Bauman graduated from UCLA’s School of Theater, Film & Television, where she studied screenwriting and digital media. She's worked as a director, videographer, script supervisor, and editor on various independent projects, including documentaries for California Humanities' Community Stories Project.
During the pandemic, she inadvertently stumbled into the world of stock-option trading and learned she had a knack for it. A year later, she left her day job to trade and write full-time. She writes slipstream science-fiction and fantasy, often with a focus on the duality of utopias vs. dystopias.
In her spare time, she runs two Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, centered around fey-court intrigues and untangling weird and forbidden mysteries, and has created two unique classes for 5e: the Hedgewitch and the Sigilsmith. She adores overly complex board games, classic science-fiction, symphonic metal, traveling, and figuring out her four cats’ Myers-Briggs personality types.
Some of her favorite books include Enchantress from the Stars & The Far Side of Evil (Sylvia Engdahl), Area X: The Southern Reach Trilogy (Jeff VanderMeer), Mickey7 (Edward Ashton), Project Hail Mary (Andy Weir), and Cat's Cradle (Kurt Vonnegut). TV shows she could binge all over again include Star Trek (TNG, DS9, Enterprise), 30 Rock, Letterkenny, Russian Doll, Better Call Saul, and Only Murders in the Building.
She is represented by Amy Collins at Talcott Notch Literary.

In my mind, you know you've found a good book when you flip to a random page and have no earthly idea how the situation before you could have possibly come to pass.
